L’Apogée Courchevel: A Lasting Commitment at the Heart of the Alps

True to its philosophy of responsible luxury, L’Apogée Courchevel has been pursuing an ambitious CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy for several years, combining environmental protection, support for the local community and social engagement. Since the creation of its CSR department in 2010, led by Amélie Pigeon and her team, the Oetker Hotels property has been designing and implementing concrete and long-lasting initiatives throughout the year. Introduced since the hotel opened in 2013, these actions contribute to the preservation of biodiversity while offering guests an  experience of excellence that respects the natural environment, illustrating the hotel’s commitment to building a sustainable future.

Raising Environmental Awareness Among Younger Generations

Since 2023, L’Apogée Courchevel has partnered with the CE1 class at Courchevel Le Praz primary School to finance educational projects focused on nature conservation. In 2024, the children explored the region’s wildlife with the guidance of specialized nature guides, gaining a deeper understanding of the vunerability of species in the face of climate change. In 2025, bee dormitories were installed at the school to support pollination and local biodiversity. Each year, the hotel hosts a friendly gathering around the traditional ‘Galette des Rois’ to showcase the children’s projects, entirely funded by hotel’s guests, who thus contribute directly to the protection of the local mountains.

Local Solidarity and Support for Associations

Since 2014, the hotel has been donating clothing, bed and bath linens, as well as hygiene products to local associations such as the Red Cross or Secours Populaire. Guests are invited to participate in this initiative through ‘Donation bags’ placed in their rooms, allowing them to leave items they no longer wish to keep at the end of their stay

Supporting Local Craftsmanship and Heritage 

L’Apogée Courchevel collaborates with Maison Arpin, a Savoyard spinning company founded in 1817 in Séez-Saint-Bernard, to create an exclusive pouch specially designed for the hotel. This partnership highlights ancestral know-how, transforming raw fleece on looms listed as National Heritage, resulting in a unique piece that reflects the hotel’s elegance and identity.

Waste Valorization and Social Inclusion

Committed for over ten years to reducing its waste, the hotel collects organic waste daily from its kitchens and restaurants to transform it into compost for local producers in the Rhone- Alpes region. This initiative is conducted in partnership with the company Elise in Annecy, which primarily employs people with disabilities or those reintegrating into the workforce, thereby combining ecological enrichment with a positive social impact.
