MARAKEZ Reimagines the North Coast with Ramla

MARAKEZ is introducing a new kind of coastal living with Ramla, a destination designed with depth, intention, and a focus on meaningful experiences. Located in Ras El Hekma on Egypt’s North Coast, Ramla is more than just a beachside escape; it’s a thoughtfully curated destination shaped by purpose, soul, and a deep commitment to local storytelling.

At the core of Ramla is the belief that the spaces we live in should move us emotionally, culturally, and sensorially. It’s a philosophy MARAKEZ calls “experiential real estate”: the idea that true luxury comes not from surface-level amenities but from meaningful design, community-driven energy, and moments that echo in memory even after summer. This approach is being brought to life through a series of handpicked partnerships that set Ramla apart.

One of these collaborations is with Dr. Mounir Neamatalla for Adrère Amellal, the iconic Siwa-based eco-lodge known for its soulful simplicity and environmental integrity. Together with MARAKEZ, Adrère is expanding beyond Siwa for the first time to create a new lodge that blends the serenity of the desert with the rhythm of the sea. This coastal sanctuary, set to open in 2028, will feature 71 handcrafted rooms made from natural materials like rock-salt and palm wood, where architecture blends
seamlessly into the landscape and time slows down.

Egyptian heritage brand Azza Fahmy will also bring its storytelling to life in a new way through space, sound, and sensation. The Azza Fahmy Beach Clubhouse, opening in summer 2026, will be a multi-sensory destination where design, craftsmanship, music, and curated retail come together to create an experience that feels both personal and poetic. Led by Fatma Ghaly and Amina Ghaly, the space reimagines the beachfront as a place not just to unwind, but to connect.

Adding another layer of energy to Ramla is Mariolino, the lifestyle concept from Mario Jr. Haddad. Known for its effortless charm and playful sophistication, Mariolino will open its Poolhouse in 2026 – a lively social hub with signature cuisine, an unmistakable barefoot spirit, and 17 boutique keys designed for a new wave of coastal hospitality. It’s a space where community, creativity, and laid-back luxury naturally come together.

Further enriching its summer narrative, MARAKEZ partnered with WHEN WE EAT this year for a four-chef dinner series from July 15 to August 15 along Egypt’s Mediterranean coast at Ramla. Each three-night takeover invites a world-renowned chef to cook over fire with fresh catch and local summer produce – including Chefs Mads Refslund (ILIS, co-founder of NOMA), Kelvin Cheung (Jun’s, Dubai), and Brando Moros (11 Woodfire).

The series culminates in a one-night-only experience by Chef Alex Atala of São Paulo’s D.O.M. More than a culinary showcase, this dinner series reflects Ramla’s belief that food is a gateway to connection, culture, and place. These partnerships aren’t just about putting a name on something; they’re about a shared vision.

MARAKEZ isn’t just copying what’s popular elsewhere. It’s working with talented Egyptian creators who truly get the land, the culture, and the idea of building something with real meaning. Together, they’re creating a destination that feels authentic, personal, and unmistakably Egyptian. “Ramla isn’t just about fancy luxury,” says Dasha Badrawi, Executive Vice-Chairman of MARAKEZ. “It’s about creating a real place, with real stories. We’re teaming up with amazing people like Adrère Amellal, Azza Fahmy, and Mariolino to build something that feels true to Egypt — a place where community, culture, and sustainability all come together naturally. Every part of it means something.”

CEO Basil Ramzy adds, “The North Coast is ready for something truly inspiring. At Ramla, we build with intention and heart. Every detail—from our hand-picked partners to our respectful care for the land—reflects that commitment. The result will be a place that tells a richer story.”

With residential handovers set to take place this year and the full lifestyle experience unfolding through 2026 and beyond, Ramla marks a turning point in how MARAKEZ – and the region – approaches development. It’s not just about where we go, but how we feel when we get there. And at Ramla, MARAKEZ is redefining coastal living.
